Travel Information to come to Sendai Station

The most convenient way is to use airline from Narita to Sendai. But there are only two flights a day. There is a new train from Sendai Airport to Sendai Station, and is more convenient than limousine bus.

Trains are much more frequent. There are two options.

1) By JR

JR Narita Airport --(JR Narita Express, or Rapid)--> Tokyo
    1-3 trains/hour, takes 1 hour
Tokyo --(JR Tohoku Shinkansen)--> Sendai
    4 trains/hour, takes 1 hr 40 min by Hayate (need reservation),  more than 2 hrs by Yamabiko

2) By Keisei Railway and JR

Keisei Narita Airport --(Keisei Skyliner)--> Keisei Ueno
    2 trains/hour, takes 1 hr
Ueno --(JR Tohoku Shinkansen)--> Sendai
    4 trains/hour, takes 1 hr 40 min by Hayate (need reservation),  more than 2 hrs by Yamabiko

How to come to Aobayama Campus, Tohoku University from Sendai Station

1) By Bus

Take a bus at the bus terminal at Sendai Station (bus stop No. 9), and get off at 'Kogakubu-chuo' bus stop.  The fare is 220 JPY.  It can be very crowded.

2) By Taxi

Take a taxi to Aoba Memorial Hall ('Aoba Kinen Kaikan' in Japanese) in the School of Engineering in the Aobayama Campus.  The fare is approximately 1,600 JPY.
It is recommended to show the printed maps (particularly the campus map below) and indicate the position to the driver in order to avoid miscommunication.
